Agota Vaitkienė and Tautvydas Vencius participated in the XIV conference of Lithuanian Sociological Society “Universities, sociology and civil society in the face of crises”.
A. Vaitkienė discussed in the plenary discussion “Which year can we consider the beginning of sociology in Lithuania?”. Also, A. Vaitkienė gave a report “Career paths of Lithuanian doctors and their backstage”. In the report, Agota presented the possible reasons for miscommunication between the medical community and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania in the context of health system reform.
Tautvydas Vencius presented the report “Let’s listen to the most vulnerable: long-term unemployment from “bureaucratic dehumanization” to the context of biographical narratives”. T. Vencius presented the connections between social mobility and long-term unemployment using not only statistics, but also life stories of the long-term unemployed.
